Online Course Audit

I created an account with

I have signed up to Shakespeare’s Life and Work offered by HarvardX

The course is 4 weeks long, self-paced and requires 5-7 hours of effort each week.

The syllabus is broken down into 3 parts:

  1. Biographical Interpretation
  2. Historical Interpretation
  3. Presentist Interpretation

There are another 3 courses in the series:

  1. Shakespeare’s Othello: The Moor
  2. Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice
  3. Shakespeare’s Hamlet: The Ghost.

I chose this unit as I was an English Teacher for 14 years in the UK before moving to Canada and I really miss teaching the history and culture of these works. I hope that by auditing the course I learn some different digital tools to engage learners as well as compare the text-to-image ratio on the LMS to help me evaluate the visual presentation of the course design.

  1. First off I would like to say terrific blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.
I was interested to know how you center yourself and
clear your head before writing. I’ve had a tough time clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out.
I do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes
tend to be wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints?
    Cheers!
