I used the image that I submitted for assignment 1 (lesson attached to the assignment also). Here is a condensed version of the lesson so that you can understand the context of the image:
WHEN DOES NETWORKING OCCUR?
- Networking occurs every time you participate in a school or social event, volunteer, talk with a neighbor, coach, work, etc…
- Talking about your goals, interests and dreams with your personal network.
- Online (social media).
- All the time; even when you are not expecting it!
- What is a Personal Network?
Personal network: group of people that you interact with every day
Parents of friends
Friends of friends
Everyone has a network and it can be a useful strategy for job/career development and exploration.
Who is in your network and how might they help support you on your chosen career path?
The image below shows how different people make up your personal network. Some will be close to you, some are ‘friends-of-friends’ and some are ‘friends-of-friends-of-friends’. These are known as 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree contacts.
Here is the interactive version.
